Preliminary Review of awnings and facade for St. John Of Aspen,
in the Brand Building.
Rita St. John said basicly what she wants to dc is the
window and the front door, with sand blast the window in shape
of her logo measurements will be 6" high and wide.
10 across the front and 11 down the side, which will be
under the 10'limit, as she understands the code for signs..:
and wants the logo either or painted or sand blasted mattering
the cost.As far as th~ awnings she was not sure she was now going
to do that, the awnings give more shade and she thought they
would look nice, and the wood trim treatment below the windows
would carry the look together;: ask what color she plans
to use Rita St. John said she was not sure, but did have some
splaches with her.
Bill Drueding read from the building code book part of the
sign codeand stated that-expect one sign for business use,
and that 2 of the 3 following signs could be allowed.
Discussion followed back and forth with the number of logos
across the window.
Nick Pasquarella said he objected to the sand blasting of
a name on a window or a peice of glass.
Asked again how many logos would be on the
window etc. Rita stated the Logo would be repeated 18 times
repeated three times on each window pane of glass 17" from
the bottom of the window, and that she felt it would be very
low keyed.
George Waggaman, said she would be opposed to a sign on the door
with so many on the window.
A Motion was made by Terry End that on condition of approval
of the signing of St. John of Aspen 6" high sand blasted sign on
3 panels which makes 18 in all conditional of the artist that
is going to do it.
Ask for a second...no one spoke, ask for rewording the motion,
next came the suggestion to bring in the drawings showing
the window with the lettering across it, to the next meeting.
