Historic-t~reservation Committee Regular Meeting September 28, 1982 Chamber
The Historic Preservation Committee held its regular meeting on September 28,
1982 in the City Council Chambers; Present were, Bill Clark, Terry End, Mona
Frost, Steve Marcus, Connie McCrudden, Gretchen Greenwood, Nick Pasquarella,
Colette Penne:
The meeting opened to the new business.
Jill Bladecki for Stefan Kalin at Mill and Hyman, with the new choice
of color to be, Colonial red, with brown trim on the concrete
block building; the members discussed the choice and asked that a
site visit be schuduled for 12:45 on October 1, 1982.
Review of color for the Mountain Resue Hut, between 5 and 6 and Main.
Jim Fitizgerald, asking for approval of changing the green color
of the hut to a grey with blue trim. Jim was comended for comming to
this committee for approval since this building is so far out on
Main. Terry End moved to approve the choice of color, Connie
MCCrudden seconded the motion, Ail in favor, motion carried.
Review of the choice of color and awnings for 60 Minute Photo Inc.
Russ Jackson and Larry Yaw for the ISIS Building. Moved to approve
the color of burgundy for the awning by Mona Frost, seconded by
Nick Pasquarella, All in favor, motion carried. Signage will come
before this committee at a later date.
Aspen Grove stair treatment, Larry Yaw, The building has verical
lines and they wish to eleminate the brick and put glass in, and have
a cantilivered canopy of anodyzed aluminim to extend four feet
out; Terry end moved to approve the Aspen Grove glass window above the
stair treatment plus the canopy treatment. Nick Pasquarella seconded
the motion, all in favor, motion carried.
Colette Penne from the Planning department passed around a memo
to amend the wording of the voting process of the members of this
committee; Agreed on was that a representative from the building
department be present at each meeting, 24-9-10B of the code be
changed, Nick Pasquarella made the motion, Terry End seconded
all in favor, motion carried.
The second part o£ her memo was, that alternates vote only
when the full committee was not present to vote, and then an
alternate can vote in rotation , or the chair can reconize if thier
is a quarem of regular members, and if not desniate an alternate
who can vote at that particualer meeting, and enforce the by laws
A record shall be kept of the members and the alternates at each
meeting. Mona Frost made a motion to approve the proposed amendment
and to have it forward to P&Z & City Council for the next steps
in the process; Gretchen Greenwood seconded the motion, Ail in
favor, opposed, One, Nick pasquarella, Ayes have it, motion carried.
Final Approve for O"Learys by Welton Andersen for the choice of
color for the awning. Moved to approve by Terry End the color
of kelly~green for the awning, seconded by Connie McCrudden,
all in £avor, motion carried.
Reminded that there is a special meeting for October 1, 1982
in the Council Chambers for two Public Hearings andthe site visit.
