The first item of old business was a review o£ the proposed
awning £or the Fudgeworks, by Welton Anderson, and for
Bright and Shiny things, by John Francis; The presentation
was given for a double awning with the same shape, The Fugde
works is moving forward and asking for approval of a vanilla
awning with fudge color piping and orange lettering, four
inches in height, the members had some problems with the orange
lettering feeling there could be a better choice, but since the
lettering is small reconsidered. Bright and Shiny Things ask
for and .ning that match the shape of the Fudgeworks but
will be different in color, there awning will be a burgundy
with gray trim and every low key; Gretchen Greenwood moved
to approve the two a. ings as shown to the committee and their
choice of colors, Marjorie Brenner seconded the motion, motion
carried.
Aspen Custom Jewelers, Russ Pielstick spoke to the members on the
remodeling of the front of the face of the building, moving
the wall back to aline with the rest of the buildings; The
door is being moved about ten inches, the bottom will be
done in brick as before and wood at the top over the window and
door. The door will have a brass handle, and the awning asked for
will be brown in color. The members found there was no major
change, but an improvemnet to the building; Nick Pasquarella
moved to approve the pliminary and final review of the
Aspen Jewelers, and asked that Russ Pielstick get approval
from the building department for the signage he wishes to have,
as submitted. Seconded by Mona Frost, all in favor, motion carried.
Bill Clark brought up the membership status and their appearance
requirements at the meetings; Perhaps some regulars ,whose
time has become more limited due to their own work loads
should either become alternates or resign from the
board; with this to consider, a recommendation be given to
Council on ~hat this committee decides. Mona Frost suggested
that all members that know they are not going to attend the
next meeting, which are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the
month unless notified, call the secretary and then shall
be given an excused absent if they take the time to cal~
and let the sec~ary know they will not be able to attend;
if they miss two meeting in a row with out notification,
some action should be taken. A recommendation for final consider-
ation and a final vote will be on December 7th meeting, and
at that time a motion should be made and given to Council,
Colette Penne should either write or. call Richard Cicero,
and ask how he feels about the time with this committee,
his business requires a lot of time out of town, and maybe
it should be suggested that he resign-rand.be thanked for [lis
time given. Marjorie Brenner said she will volunteer to
become an alternate and will make a motion to Council next
meeting, to request that Council appoint Gretchen Greenwood and
Connie Mc Cruddev to become regular members and that the
committee a~v~ for a new alternate.
