Cicero suggested that the raise the venting area up two or three feet to
make the ventilation better. Groen asked about the exhaust system of the
ARI Building. David Moss, owner of the restaurant, stated that there will
be fans and air conditioners in the ARI Building so the result would
be that there will not be any exhaust problems there at all.
Groen asked if the three p~ches would be all in glass. Moss stated that
the center one would not be.
Groen asked about the light control in the glass areas. Moss stated that
would be the same as before.
Groen asked if there will be any chimneys on the proposed buildings.
Anderson stated that the one that are present would be the chimneys that
would be on the buildings. There are presently two chimneys that are
sticking out of Arthur's now and that there are no plans to remove them.
Seigle asked about the color scheme of the building. Anderson stated that
the were thinking about taking the creme, golden, maroon colors and adding
to that a blue-medium dark, gray and a tan. Then they may use red corner
boards and gold. What they are trying to achieve is to have diversity
along with unity. But they would experiment with different color schemes.
Groen asked if the roofs would be a fire proof wood shingles. Anderson
stated that the only place that the shingles would be fire proof is on
the east side. This would be retardent.wood over foil. The roof would
probably be done in shades of gray.
Seigle asked the public for comments. No comments from the public.
Seigle closed the meeting to the public.
Groen stated that he would like to see how they would handle the duct
areas, equipment, and if they are proposing to do anything with the
existing chimneys.
Burns stated that he would like to see the final plans for solving what
they intend to do to meet P&Z's request, the landscaping, trash storage
and things of that nature.
Green asked about additional signing. Moss stated that they would be
moving the sign to where the new entrance would be.
Seigle suggested to Anderson to come back with revised plans with the
raised pitch of the roof.
Cicero stated that they should only raise the roof the height that was
needed to cover that duct. Anderson stated that the thought occured to
him that what they should do is instead of raising the roof up, they
could provide some screening further back on the roof and be painted
flat black.
Cicero made a motion that Arthur's Restaurant come back with the changes
on the plans. Green seconded.
Moses asked what the committee f~tt about him acting on this case
considering that he has done some paint work on it. Seigle stated that
he felt that it was a conflict of interest. Green commented that he
should check with the City Attorney.
Moses stated that he would abstain.
