DR. WESSON:
NEW BUILDING TO
BE BUILT
Seigle stated that this is to be located next to the Shaw house on Main
Street which is on the corner of Fifth and Main Streets. Wesson stated
that he wanted a simple building that would not block the view plane
of the other buildings in the area. What Wesson wants is a low building
that is spread out to receive the square footage that he ~eeds.
Wesson stated that it has a s]opinglroof with shingles.
Seigle asked what materials would he like to use. Wesson stated that
wood, painted steel roof, and:glass are the materials that he proposed
to use. Wesson stated that he told his architect that he would want
earthy colors.
Seigle thought that that particular style of building would look more
appropriate in Aurora. He feels that keeping a low profile building
would be nice considering it has not been done before on Main Street.
Groen felt that considering that the building will be located on the
corner, the building should not be low.
Wesson stated that if he kept the height past on Main Street, he
wo~lld be violating an agreement with Mike ~oode that he would not
block his view of Independence. He said that the building that he is
proposing should really be dropped 3 more feet. They would like to
get it down to no higher than 19 feet.
Burns would like to see something of a residential feeling.
Groen stated that one thing that the have asked in the past is that
when the plans are presented, they will like to see it in relation
to the elevations of the other buildings. This would give them a
good prospective.
Frost stated that every house on Main Street has a front entrance
and that the building that Wesson is proposing does not.
Frost asked about the parking facilities. Wesson stated that there is
parking in the back.
This project will be continued in the next meeting.
Moses made a/motion to adjourn.. Burns se~conded. All in favor.
