Those members present were Lary Groen, Norm Burns, Mona Frost, Bob Marsh. Also present are staff membersJohn Stanford.and Clayton Meyring. Terese David Preapplication Review This application is before this board for review because that property has been zoned historic, and the building itself has been designated as historic. Building Inspector Clayton Meyring is present at this meeting to discuss this application. He issued a building permit for the work on this property without the application being reviewed by the HPC. This is an application for work on the existing residence and an ariel survey of the property is being presented. The members reviewed the plans extensively. Groen feels that the proposed addition was styled in too much of a "condominium" style for this Victorian house. Several ways this could be changed were discussed by the members, as Ms. David stated that no work had begun on the remodeling at this time. The existing old shed behind that building was also discussed, and Clayton Meyring feels that removal of that shed would greatly enhance the property. Ms. David is not really interested in removing the shed, and the HPC does not have authority to request its removal. The railing around the rear of the porch was discussed. The m embers suggested a simple wooden type railing. Burns moved to approve the application with the following conditions: 1. The facia board was removed to cover just the rafters and not include the beams. 2. The railing on the porch be done in a similar manner to the existing railing on the shop. Ms. Frost seconded this motion, all in favor. Motion carried. Groen feels that the HPC should have reviewed this application at conception, as he thinks they would have requested some major changes in the way the remodeling was done and in the proposed gravel roof. Marsh moved to adjourn at 1:30, all in favor, motion carried. Ellen Atkins, Deputy City Clerk
