Special Meeting Historical Preservation Committee October 21, 1975
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Groen at 5:15 p.m. with members
Norman Burns, Florence Glidden, Jerry Michaels present. Also present was
John Stanford of the Planning Office.
Approval of colors
for Aspen Arcades
Building
Groen explained that they had called a Special Meeting
to consider the colors proposed for the Aspen Arcades
Building. The last HPC meeting it had been tabled due to
the request of the applicant to apply colors to the
building and have an on-site inspection of how the colors
looked.
Groen explained to Fleisher that what the Historic
Preservation Committee is concerned with are earthy colors
and not something that is visually outstanding. The
Committee felt that the colors which were being presented
were not typically that of Aspen, historically Aspen,
or necessary. Groen read to Fleisher from the Historic
Preservation Committee criteria color list and it does
not include purple. Fleisher asked for a copy of the
HPC criteria color list.
Stanford mentioned that, at present, the Historic Preser-
vation Committee is working on apo!icy statement
regarding colors and will be presenting it on the agenda
for the next HPC meeting which will be on October 2~,
1975; and suggested that the HPC postpone their decision
until that time. Stanford also asked Fleisher if he
would like to have his approval tabled and put on the
October 28 agenda.
Fleisher decided that he would like the HPC to table
the colors for the Aspen Arcades Building until October
28.
Glidden made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Burns.
Meeting adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
