It was a work of art requested by the jewelry shop above the Tom Mix store. It would be 8' x 8' on a couple of panels and avoid use of primary colors. Ms. Ferrenburg thanked Mr. O'Leary but explained that she felt that the committee could not technically address him because he did not come under their jurisdiction because no building permit was required also because his work could not be defined as a sign. It he was approached at a later date by another artist, would he please refer them to the Historic Preservation Committee because the proposed Historical Overlay may be in effect and future requests for approval would come before this committee. Street Lights Some of the old street lights are available to be placed in the downtown area and also along Main Street. It was decided that the old street light posts would make good posts for traffic signals. There was a lot of red tape involved in having these posts approved but it was worth the trouble to avoid having cross-beams across the streets holding the required street signals. Criteria Discussion of preparation for presentation to P & Z of criteria to be used for the Historic Overlay District included the following: ground coverage, roofs, secondary roofs, building height, color and facades. It was felt that from the procedural aspect in developing criteria it would be a good idea to hold public hearings for the aesthetic feelings of those interested when buildings came up for review before the Historic Preservation Committee when the proposed Historic Overlay became effective. It was the hope of the committee that the matter of criteria could be tabled by the P & Z Committee until such time as it could be presented to them. The meeting was adjourned at 4:10 p.m. Next regular meeting scheduled for July 12 at 2:00 p.m. Recording Secretary RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves Regular Meeting Historic Preservation Committee June 28, 1974 Redraft of Minutes by Judy Ferrenberg as follows: The meeting was called to order at 2:10 by Acting Chairwoman Judy Ferrenberg, Mona Frost, Norm Burns, Florence Glidden, Bob Marsh, and John Stanford, member of the Planning staff were present.
