(Series of 2000) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TI-IE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, GRANTING SPECIAL APPROVAL FOR BANNERS COMMENORATING THE ASPEN INSTITUTE'S 50TM ANNIVERSARY. WHEREAS, Section 26.36.030(3) of the Land Use Code, allows for the installation of temporary banners which advertise a special event for noncommercial purposes, to be in place for not more than seventeen days; and WHEREAS, Section 26.36.110 of the Land Use Code, allows for City Council approval for any signs installed in the public right-of-way beyond the fourteen day limit; and WHEREAS, City Council finds that the 50th anniversary of The Aspen Institute is an event of importance to the entire community, and therefore grants permission to install banners on lightpoles on Main Street between Third and Galena, on Cooper Avenue between Spring and Galena, and on Durant Avenue between Spring and Mill. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, THAT: Section 1 The banners, represented by the attached design, may be installed between July 24, 2000 through August 27, 2000. Section 2 The following conditions are placed on this approval: 1. The Aspen Institute may install banners on the existing brackets along Main Street and the Commercial Core from July 24, 2000 through August 27, 2000. 2. The Aspen Institute shall order 10 extra banners to be installed if necessary due m theft or other damage. 3. The Aspen Institute shall pay the proposed installation fee of $6.00 per banner, as established in the 2000 City fee schedule. Commercial core pay parking fees: Between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. 1.00/hour Between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. free III.
