Special Meeting Aspen City Council ©ctober 6, 1976 Mayor Standley called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. with Councilmembers De Gregorio, Pedersen, and Wishart present. John Stanford, planning office,~explained this emergency ordinance was needed so that Arthur's, on Main street, cOuld ~be designated as an historic structure. Restaurants on Main street in "H" structures are a conditional use, and this use must go to P & Z Arthur's for a conditional use hearing. If this ordinance is not passed now, the process would H, designatid go on until winter, and there is a chance that the owners 0f Arthur's would tear down the building and build something new. Councilman De Gregorio moved to read. Ordinance ~56, Series of 1976; seconded by Council- man Wishart, All in favor, motion carried. ORDINANCE #56 (Series of 1976) AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING ARTHUR'S RESTAURANT (LOTS K AND L OF BLOCK 58, ORIGINAL ASPEN TO~SITE) AS AN HISTORIC STRUCTURE AND SITE AND DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY EXISTS REQUIRING THE ADOPTION HEREOF AS AN EMERGENCY PROVISION PURSUANT TO SECTION 4.11 OF THE HOME RULE CHARTER was read by the city clerk. Councilwoman Pedersen moved to adopt Ordinance ~56, Series of 1976, on first reading; seconded by Councilman De Gregorio. Roll call vote; Councilmembers Pedersen, aye; De Gregorio, aye; aye; Mayor Standley, aye. Motion carried. Wishart, Councilman Wishart moved to adjourn at 7:50 p.m; seconded by Councilwoman Pedersen. All in favor, motion carried.
