The meeting was called to order by Mayer Garrish at 7:30PM with Councilmen James, Anderson, Braun and Beyer present. Councilman Braun suggested ~a~ discussion of salaries in the Electrical Depa~-&-.ent as he felt any changes shomld become effectivm May 1, 1960· Ail Councilmen agreed that Earle Jenkinson should lose the $100.OO a month increase he had received when C. H. Andersun returned to Walsenburg, as no reduction in salary had been made whe~ Am~rson returned to Aspen.: The matter of audit and closing the books in the Electric Department was also discussed and this will receive f~the~ ~¢onsideration in meeting with Mr. Handy. . ~ A motion was made by Braun ~and seconded .by Anderson - that· the salary of Earle Jenkinson be Notion -Earle reduced by $100~.00 to the sma of $450.00 a month effective May 1, 1960. Carried unanimously. Jenkinsen salary A motion was made by Beyer and seconded by Braun - that due to his being relieved of the manage- ment of the Aspen Waterworks,~ C. H. Anderson's salary will revert back to $550.00 a ~th plus Motion - C.H. $25.00 a month car allowance effective May 1, 196O. Carrie~a~i~uosly. Anderson salary The clerk was~instructed to prepare ~letter for the Mayor's signature informing Mr. AnderSon and Narle Jenkinson of these motions, and to send copies to Kenneth Broughton, Chairman of the Utility Board. also, t~ send a letter to C. H. Anderson that he is to be relieved of~ the mauager- ship of the Aspen Waterworks effective May 1, 1960, and to Earle Jenkinson that he has the right to petition Council in regard to salary change if he so desires. Mayor Garrish said Cris Kralicek had told him that a water pipe had broken in Wagner Park. He will instruct Cris to have this taken care of. Matter of Pump test on well discussed~ also trimming of tress. Slim Amderson is handling this and feels those trees which pose the most danger should receive the first consideratiun. It was suggested that any request to remove healthy tree~e referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Irrigation was discussed and it was generally agreed that there would be no increase in rates Irrigatiun at this time, and that there should be no restriction placed on sprinkling time· Buy copy Motion by Braun seconded by Anderson - that the City buy a copy of the water installation of water map from Dale Rea for $250.00. This amount to be charged to the Contingency Fund for advertising and civic better- Boy Scouts. merit · Mr. James reported on information he had received on dog pans. He will take this up with the City Administrator. The matters of b~autifytng the City dump and obtaining gravel to be taken up at the regular meeting of Council. For further discussion with the County Commissioners - shoul~d building, electrical and plumbing inspector be on salary - ½ to be paid by ~ounty.
