The City Council met as a Committee of the Whole on August 18, 1960, at 7:00 PM. Present were
Mayor Garrish, Councilmen Anderson, Braun, James and Beyer, and City Administrator Wurl.
The Mayor said that he had been informed that the 22 hour service on the fire button was to be dis-
continued. Also discussed - only one toilet in the Opera House.
Mr. Wurl read the statement of the Special Water Fund and this was discussed. He will contact Releasing Bonds.
Attorney Stewart about having the remaining $100.000.00 of Bonds released.
Drilling of well on Spring Street discussed and this will be presented for approval at next regular Well-Spring St.
meeting.
Discussed - best method of handling work on water installatioh if all cannot be finished this year.
Matter o£ ~iving Merrill Construction Co. additional contract also discussed.
- site of tank - Wurl will furnish cost on each proposed site.
Reviewed - specifications for pumps and tanks - advertising for bids on same, and opening bids on Water tank bids.

Fritz Benedict was present in the interest of obtaining water for his developments outside of Aspen~ Water- Benedict
It was suggested that he send in data coverihg requirements similar to that submitted for Pitkin Green.
Need for revision of water rates discussed, and it was suggested that a notice be put in the Aspen
Times informing water users that this matter is receiving attention.

It was indicated that the County has agreed to assume 1/2 the cost of a full-time building inspector Bldg Insp.
of the City's choice.
Discussed - Bridge on Route 82 and it was suggested that the Highway Commissioner be invited to meet Bridge
with the Council. Rt. 82
