Representatives from the Rocky Mountain Natural Gas Company met with Mayor Rocky Mtn. Garfish, Councilmen Braun, James,Anderson and Beyer,and Attorney Stewart for further Natural Gas discussion of their proposal. (Mr. Porter, Grant McGee, O~ville Shockley, Roger Frayley, Co. Bill Newton, John Reed and Attorney Charles Stewart for Rocky Mtn. Natural Gas~ Mr. Newton, their geologist, outlined at length the reserves of the Company, and said that the following information would be required by PUG: 1. Reserves for 20 years 2. Proof that project is feasible. 3. Ability to finance the job. Informal Meeting - Aspen City Council and Representatives from Rocky Mtn. Natural He said analysis of gas would be included in their presentation. Also stressed the advantages of using reserves in Colorado. Also that they had 78,000,000,000 actual proven reserves. Rocky Mtn. The matter of financing was discussed, and ~Mr. Frayley said they had received an [Natural Gas indication from Merrill-Lynch that there would be no difficulty in raising funds. In the matter of franchise, they said they would go to property line, and that they would finance soho61 to train local help for local installation; that they would serve Aspen even though Glenwood Springs does not grant franchise, and that they could start diggin~ as soon as they had received approval from PUC. They indicated that gas line would not go through Glenwood. The order of procedure would be - to get approval from PU~- then to acquire rights of-way, installation and acquiring customers. If Apsen grants franchise, Carbondale is firm. It was suggested they furnish statement~that there would be no change in the rate even though Glenwood does not pariicipate, and that original proposal would stand. Meeting adjourned at 10:45 PM.
