A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN,
COLORADO, APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF ASPEN
AND PHIL VAUGHAN CONSTRUCTION SERVICES INC. AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF
THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO.
WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council a contract for
Hallam Street and Castle Creek Bridge Improvements between the City of Aspen
and Phil Vaughan Construction Services Inc., a true and accurate copy of which is
attached hereto as Exhibit "C";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO,
That the City Council of the City of Aspen hereby approves that Contract
for Hallam Street and Castle Creek Bridge Improvements between the City of
Aspen and Phil Vaughan Construction Services Inc, a copy of which is annexed
hereto and incorporated herein, and does hereby authorize the City Manager to
execute said agreement on behalf of the City of Aspen.
INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by the City Counc' of the City of
Aspen on the 22nd day of January, 2018.

Dear Pete,
As per our conversation,please find below a proposal for Construction Management as Advisor
services for the City of Aspen Hallam Street and Castle Creek Bridge Improvements project.
City of Aspen Project Number 2017-50464.
As discussed, PVCMI has an executed professional services contract with the City of Aspen for
Construction Management as Advisor services on an as-needed basis via Resolution#54- Series
of 2017.
As per our October 16, 2017 phone call, please find below the services discussed, with estimated
hours noted for each item.
1. Review of the contract document for conformance with the design documents,
bidding documents and addenda.
Estimated hours: 12
2. Review of project submittals.
As per our phone call, you would like for me to review approximately 1/2 of the submittals
below and the Contractor's schedule.
The bid documents indicate the following approximate number of submittals: (1)
indicates the number of main subsections of the described submittal.

Details: 14 submittals @ 2 hours per submittal
Estimated hours: 28 hours
3. Pre-Construction Meetings and preparation of meeting minutes.
2 total.
Details: 10 hours travel. 8 hours meetings and preparation of meeting minutes.
Estimated hours: 18 hours
4. Periodic Field Observation- Not requested.
5. Field Inspection on an as-needed basis as requested by Pete Rice.
6. Monthly pay application review and recommendation regarding certification.
Details: 5 monthly applications. 8 hours each.
Estimated hours: 40 hours
7. Attend weekly Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings from April 1, 2018 to July 31, 2018.
Details: 17 weekly meetings. 4 hours travel per meeting. 4 hours per meeting.
Estimated hours: 136 hours
8. Project closeout review and coordination
Details: Review of documents to confirm conformance with closeout provisions of the
contract.
Estimated hours: 25 hours
Total Estimated Hours: 259 hours @ $95/hr.=$24,605.00
Total Estimated Mileage: 19 trips at 154 miles each. 2,926 miles @ $0.65/mile= $1,901.90

Additional services:
As per your 11/1/17 email, preparation and distribution of meeting minutes for each of the 17
meetings will take approximately 3 hours per meeting.
Estimated hours: 51 hours @ $95/hr=$4,845.00
We propose to provide services on an hourly basis as per the attached PVCMI 2017/2018 Fee
Schedule.
