The meeting opened at 5:30 PM. Present were Mayor Garfish, Councilmen Beyer,
Newell and Moore, City Administrator Humphrey and Gary McFadden.
The purpose of the meeting was to consider the cubbs on Galena Street from
the north half of Block 94 to the intersection of Galena and Main Sts, and on
the north side of Main Street between Mill and Monarch Sts.
Discussed- that curbs and gutters should be uniform, hazards in plowing if
Curbs - jogs exist age of trees (cottonwood) in frontof the parsonage on Galena St.
Main and
Galena Reference was made to an easement granted on Main St. on the north side-and
this is to be researched. Mr. Humphrey called State Highway Department and they
could not recall~such agreement with the State.
A motion was made by Councilman Beyer, seconded by Councflman Newell, t0~trim
back on Main Street - North Side- between Mill and Month Sts as far as possible
without hurting the evergreen trees -and install stafldard curb; also the East side
of Galena St. from the center of Block 94 to the intersection of Mill and Main -
to be widened to conform to 56 foot - curb to curb. Councilmen Newell and Be~er
Voted AYE and Councilman Moore abstained from voting as he felt propemty owners
should be consulted. Motion carried.
Trailer The Mayor referred to complaint about trailer parked at power plant site, and
as construction is still in process, Council feels ft mak remain there.
Discussed - junk at power house and cost to cut to size and to ship to Denver -
Sale of also offer of $100 for lot from Shulman. It was suggested that an "ad" offering this
3unk for sale be placed in Aspen Times.
The meeting adjourned at 6:17 PM upon motion by Newell, seconded by Moore, and
carried.
