5:20PM. Present were Councilmen Barnard, Kuster,Stapleton and McEachern, Cit~ At-
Chief of torney Balcomb, City Administrator Kerrigan and Aspen Times Editor Bill Dunaway.

This meeting had been preceded by an Executive Session at which the charges
against Chief Hennig had been discussed.
A Resolution was made by Councilman McEachern stating: Upon hearing the
findings of the investigator, Council has no evidence to substanciate that the
alledged incident at the airport is true or that the anonymous phone call is
valid. Therefore, the investigation is closed. Seconded by Councilman Stapleton.
The Mayor called for further discussion and, there being no discussion the roll
was called: Councilme~arnard aye; Kuster aye; Stapleton aye; McEachern aye.
Discussion followed on what action to take. Councilman Barnard asked Councilman
McEachern his opinion, and the latter felt it would be unwise to make any change
during the winter season. Motion then made by Councilman Barnard that the
Chief be asked to resign 30 days from now. Motion seconded by Councilman Kuster.
The Mayor then called for the vote:
Councilman Barnard aye; ' Kuster aye.
Stapleton Nay; McEachern Nay; Mayor Pabst Nay. The motion did not
carry.
After further disnussion on suggestion by Bill Dunaway that a positive motion
be made as indication of vote of confidence, the meeting was adjourned at 5:35PM
upon motion by Councilman Barnard, seconded b' Councilman McEachern and carried.
