Bergman~ Werner Kuster~ John Benninghoff~ Clyde Clymer and City Administravor Leon Wurl.
Sidewalk Adminisvravor Wurl related a request by James Moore vo consvrucv a Sidewalk
James Moore 5' sidewalk on his properv~ on Monarch and Main ra~her than the 8' James Moore
as required in the commercial zone as this block is split~ parr
business and par5 tourist.
Councilman Benning~off moved vo granv approval vo James Moore for a
5' sidewalk as per the requesv of 5' and fur-vher that future sidewalks
from the cenver line of Monarch Street wesv and zoned C-1 will be
entitled vo a 5' sidewalk. Seconded by Councilman Kuster. Roll ~all
yore Councilmen Clymer aye~ Benninghoff aye; Kuster aye~ Bergman
aye.
Erikson Shop Administrator Wurl also related a request by Jack Stiles f~ the Stein Erikson Shop
Canopy Erikson Shop to construct a canopy from the shop entrance out to 2' Canopy
from the ~curb. ' ~ ~ ~
Councilman Benninghoff moved to grant this request with the condition
that the City will. not be held resppnsible or liable for damages
resulting from the canopy and provide in. his insuranc'e policy a sa~e
H~rmless clause~ to protect the City. Seconded by Councilman Kuster.

Bla~k Top Black .Top Paving - Pay estimate in the amount of $7~667.~6 was sub- Black Top
Paving mitred for council approval.. Council questioned the drainage in the Paving
alley nex~ ~o the ~Red 0nian. 4dm~i~t~a~or Wurl reported it is lower
in one.spot due to a sewer manhole.
Councilman Bergman moved to approve the pay estimate in the amount of
$7~667.46 to Black ~op paving. Seconded by CoUncilman Clymer. Roll

Bleeker Stre Bleeker Street - Discussed the widening and right-of-way of Bleeker
Right of Wa' Street whene the Spring Street Pump house is located. Council agreed
to have Administrator Wurl look into the preliminary steps nexessary
to get the needed right-of-way.
Budgets Budgets Council reviewed the following budgets:
Legal - No comments.
Police Magistra~ Police Magistrate - Administrator Wurl reported one the the present
dispatchers has been proposed in the budget as a full time court clerk.
Court is presently being held twice a week and requires a full time
clerk. Also increased the Magistrates salary $100.00.
Salaries Council - Council request the Administrator leave the salaries for
Mayor and Council as presently established.
Administrator Administrator - Discussed an assistant. Council reduced the Administrat~
Assistant or's budget by eliminating the money budget for administrative
assistant.
City Clerk City Clerk - Administrator Wurl reported the large increase in this
Deputy budget is due to proposed home rule elections and one deputy. City
Clerk's salary has also been increased as she cannot receive and in-
crease only but every two years.
Water Purificat~ Water Purification - No comments.
Police Police - Administrator Wurl reported this budget includes an invest-
igator plus a car for him to use. Council requ.est that if 3 cars are
needed~ 2 be small cars suggested two volkswagens and keep one
station wagon.
Councilman Kuster moved that the Police Department budget be trimmed
back to $125~000 to~i3al. Seconded by Councilman Benninghoff. Roll call

. Communlcatio~ Communications - Discussed county participation and fire calls.
P & Z Planning and Zoning - Administrator Wurl reported he had changed
this budget to not provide fro a planner as recommended by the
Commission but to provide for such under the RSA.
Engineering Engineering - Discussed the savings to the City over the last couple
of years of having a full time engineer over the hiring of outside
engineering firms. Administrator Wurl stated this budget includes
another assistant in the engineering department and also provides for
the City to purchase the equipment presently paid to the City Engineer
fro his own equipment.
Councilman Bergman moved to leave the budget of the Engineering Depart-~i
ment as proposed by the City Administrator. Seconded by Councilman
Clymer. Roll call vote - Councilmen Clymer aye~ Berg~an aye~ Kuster

Mill Levy Mill Levy - Discussed county re-evaluation~ Councilman Kuster moved
the City drop the Whitaker 10 mill levy. Seconded by Councilman
Benninghoff. Roll call vote - Councilmen Bergman aye~ Benninghoff aye;
~ Kuster aye; Clymer aye.
Councilman Kuster moved to adjourn at 6:~5 p.m.~ seconded by Councilman
BergLman. Ail in favor~ meeting adjourned.
