Chris, Could you please respond with any detail that will help me explain the
extent to which Single Stream is an option for Aspen instead of using the existing
recycling center and/or programs, and the extent to which we could implement Single
Stream in the next few years.

The CCLC wants to be on record as saying that We do not feel the two
story structure proposed for the Rio Grande Park for a cost of
approx. one million dollars is filling an appropriate need for a new
recycling center.
According to the county landfill management single stream would be a

better approach and easier for our residents to use. According to
the Parks Department re: the large ugly brown recycling cans around
town, it seems that only the newspaper section is being properly
separated.

We feel that before spending more money on a building that will most
likely need to be adapted to a more functional recycling system
sooner than later, is a waste of time and money. It should be looked
at more carefully and with much more fore thought.
