HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.121-00 RESOLUTION NO. t/,~tt Series of 2000 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE APPROVAL OF AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH PITKIN COUNTY, THE TOWN OF BASALT, THE TOWN OF CARBONDALE, EAGLE COUNTY, GARFIELD COUNTY, THE CITY OF GLENWOOD SPRINGS, AND THE TOWN OF SNOWMASS VILLAGE CONCERNING THE ROARING FORK TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY WHEREAS, On August 28, 2000, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 116; Series of 2000, approving an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Aspen, Pitkin County, the Town of Basalt, the Town of Carbondale, Eagle County, Garfield County, The City of Glenwood Springs, and the Town of Snowmass Village concerning the formation of the Roaring Fork Tra~portation Authority; and WHEREAS, subsequent to the approval of the Intergovernmental Agreement by the City Council of the City of Aspen, the City Council of the City of Glenwood Springs approved the same intergovernmental agreement with certain minor proposed amendments to the language of the agreement; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend its prior approval of the agreement to include those minor amendments to conform to the approval granted by the City Council of the City of Glenwood Springs. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Aspen, Colorado hereby approves the Intergovernmental Agreement with Pitkin County, the Town of Basalt, the Town of Carbondale, Eagle County, Garfield County, The City of Glenwood Springs, and the Town of Snowmass Village concerning the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority as approved by Resolution No. 116, Series of 2000, with the following amendments to the agreement: 1. The following words shown in bold letters shall be added to Section 2.01 (b) .... by a majority of the registered electors residing within the Initial Boundaries of the Authority at the time of the election who vote in a general election .... 2. A new section 8.03(f) shall be added which section shall read as follows: Provisions concerning access contained in the Roaring Fork Railroad Holding Authority Intergovernmental Agreement shall be honored by the RTA. 3. Section 8.04 (e) shall be amended to have the following words shown in bold letters added to the text of the section: ...within the boundaries of the Authority (such as the Traveler or equivalent services) in addition to ..... 4, A new appendix shall be added to the agreement that shows the proportion of funding that each member would contribute to the RTA based on the proposed sales tax rates, using the 1999 figures contained in the RTA funding proposal chart.
