COMMERCIAL CORE & LODGING COMMISSION
MINUTES OF MARCH 7. 2007
Chairperson, Bill Dinsmoor called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. In
attendance were Mark Goodman, Stan Hajenga, Shae Singer, Terry Butler,
Don Sheeley and John Starr.
Stan expressed his disappointed about the glass cover on the pavilion that it
couldn't be replaced for two weeks because the glass shop is closed. Terry
pointed out that Elmer's glass in Glenwood could do the job.
John said CCLC needs to communicate with all the candidates for the
Mayoral election.
Takah Sushi
Casey Kaufman said the goal of the mall lease is to leave a space to allow
people to walk through during the hours that she is not open. The fence will
be eliminated. Planters will be built to act as a boundary. The area will be
left open during the day and then some kind of rope will connect the planters
when the restaurant is open.
Shae asked if the tables would be secured. Casey said she will leave the
table and chairs unlocked at first.
Don said his fear is that people will take the tables and chairs. Casey said
there are plenty of tables and chairs in the mall so she feels they will not be
taken. If we connected them with cables people can still use them.
Shae said she has no problem with the cabling of the tables and chairs.
Casey has good taste and the planters and flowers will be an added accent to
the mall.
Stan said she has done what we asked and we need to go forward.
Bill said the idea is to be able for people to walk through.
John said the idea is to give it a feeling of greater access. The planters have
not been purchased. If you can figure it out so that they aren't a barrier that
would be better.
