HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.130-00 RESOLUTION No. [ (Series of 2000) A RESOLUTION OF THE ASPEN CITY COUNCIL APPROVING "STEIN WAY" AS A STREET NAME IN THE ASPEN HIGHLANDS VILLAGE PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT WHEREAS, the Community Development Department received an application from Georgia Hanson on behalf of Hines Highlands, Inc. requesting approval for a street name; and WI-IEREAS, s!nce the street access is a public right-of-way, only City Council has the authority to approve a name, proCded the proposed name w/Il not duplicate or be confused with existing street names within the City or its environs; and WHEREAS, the Community Development Department has reviewed the application and solicited comments from the Engineering Department, Fire Department, U.S. Post Office, Water Department, Streets Department, Police Department, Communications Center and City Mapping ' (GIS) Division, and no concerns were raised; and WHEREAS, Community Development Department staff is recommending approval of the proposed street name with conditions; and WHEREAS, at a public meeting the Aspen City Council has reviewed and considered the requested street name, and has reviewed and considered those recommendations made by the Community Development Department; and WltEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed street name, with conditions, meets or exceeds all applicable criteria of the Municipal Code. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO as follows: Section 1: That the Aspen City Council hereby approves Hines Highlands,Inc. request to name the street access to the nine units at the intersection of Exhibition Lane and Steeplechase Drive, "Stein Way," with the following conditions: 1. Within 180 days of this approval, the applicant must complete an Insubstantia~ Planned Unit Development Plat Amendment to update the Highlands Planned Unit Development plat in accordance with the approvals contained herein. 2. New street signs shall be pumhased by the applicant through the City Streets Department. The sign(s) shall be installed in a location approved by the Streets Department, and any costs associated with the installation of the sign(s) shall be borne by Hines Highlands, Inc. 3. All material representations made by the applicant in this application shall be adhered to and shall be considered conditions of approval, unless otherwise amended by the Community Development Director or City Council.
