Dear Kathryn,
I am enclosil1g a copy of the artwork for the Main Street lamppost bal1ners we wc>uld like to
produce for World Cup. The desigl1 il1corpc>rates "ASPEN" and the artistic elements of the
World Cup Logc> with out any commercial or dated il1formatiol1. We have purposely designed
these banners so that if We are apprc>ved we could potel1tially use them again fc>r Wc>rld Cup
events in years to come. After seeing the extensive community decoratiol1s il1 Vai I al1d Park
City, We believe that these bal1ners will create a festive atmosphere in the dc>wntown al1d will
help to visibly signify the presel1ce of a world-class event in Aspen.
We would like to have the banners hung on Monday, November 13th by Electric Departmel1t.
The banners could be removed al1Y time after Monday, November 27th. According to the
Electric Department, we currel1tly have 29 street banner sites with brackets installed along
Main, Galena & Dural1t Streets. Jinx at the Electrical Department (who has been a great
resource in determining design specifications) told us that the city must gral1t permissic>n to
install additional brackets. If possible, we'd like to request the installation of 10 additic>nal
brackets which we will prc>vide. Jinx said he would be happy to add these brackets as 10l1g as
the city gral1ts the approval. We would like to place these additional brackets on lamppc>sts
along Durant Street and at the intersection of Durant Street & Aspen Street to better
marquis the race venue entrance.
Please let me know if we l1eed to provide any additional il1fc>rmation. We are so excited about
getting back on the annual World Cup Schedule. We have worked very hard to make a good
impression with the United States Ski Association and since there will be unprecedel1ted
TV/news cc>verage we really trying to come up with creative ways to shc>w off our tc>wn duril1g
these events. Thank you for your support and cC>l1sideratiol1.
