A RESOLUTION OF THE ASPEN CITY COUNCIL APPROVING A STREET N
CHANGE FROM "ZOOM FLUME LANE" TO "CASCADE LANE" IN THE MO
FAMILY PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the Community Development Department received an application fro
Tim Terral on behalf of residents of Zoom Flume Lane requesting approval for a street name
change from Zoom Flume Lane to Cascade Lane; and
WHEREAS, since the street access is a public right-of-way, only City Council has t e
authority to approve a name, provided the proposed name will not duplicate or be confused 'th
existing street names within the City or its environs; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Department has reviewed the applicatio and
solicited comments from the Engineering Department, Fire Department, U.S. Post Office, W ter
Department, Streets Department, Police Department, Communications Center and City Map ing
(GIS) Division, and no cOI).cerns were raised; and
WHEREAS, Community Development Department staff is recommending approval f
the proposed street name with conditions; and
WHEREAS, at a public meeting the Aspen City Council has reviewed and considere
the requested street name change, and has reviewed and considered those recommendations ade
by the Community Development Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed street name, with conditions,
or exceeds all applicable criteria of the Municipal Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY F
ASPEN, COLORADO as follows:
Section 1:
That the Aspen City Council hereby approves the residents of Zoom Flume Lane's request to
change the name of their street access from "Zoom Flume Lane" to "Cascade Lane" with the
following conditions:
I. Within 180 days of this approval, the applicant must complete an Insubstantial Planned
Unit Development Plat Amendment to update the Moore Planned Unit Development
plat in accordance with the approvals contained herein.
2. New street signs shall be purchased by the applicant through the City Streets
Department. The sign(s) shall be installed in a location approved by the Streets
Department, and any costs associated with the installation of the sign(s) shall be borne
by the residents of Zoom Plume Lane.
