a portion
Adams and Collins reported they had inspected the area in
question and recommended that the city take no responsibility
for that portion of South Monarch south of Gilbert St. since
they felt the area constitutes a "private" street.
Bartel stated that in any case, and in general, full right-
of-ways should be preserved for pedestrian use.
Collins suggested that extension of Hill Street connecting
Aspen and Monarch Streets would facilitate circulation in
the area.
Bartel recalled that Council's position was that circulation
in the No. 1 Lift area was not the responsibility of the city.
Commission discussed the desireability of preserving views
and insuring that the proposed landscaping and the development
not obscure views up the mountain.
Collins moved to recommend to Council that the landscaping
request be turned down on the basis that there are too many
other problems associated with the request, principally
traffic circulation and site corridors. Seconded by Adams.
