Special Meeting Aspen Planning & Zoning July 15, 1969 Meeting was called to order by Chairman George Heneghan at 5:10 p.m. with Robin Molny, Francis Whitaker and Norm Clasen. Absent and excused Mayor Robert Barnard and Dale Mars. Absent Councilman John Benninghoff. Min. Distance between bldgs. Chairman Heneghan opened the public hearing on the minimum distance between buildings and read the recom- mendation of the Commission outlining the distance as 10'. There being no comments from the floor, Chairman Heneghan closed the public hearing. Whitaker made a motion that Title XI be amended to include the requirement of at least 10' of space between any principal building and any accessory building in the zones of R-40, R-30, R-15, R-6 and AR-l and AR-2. Seconded by Clasen. Roll call vote - Whitaker aye; Molny aye; Heneghan aye; Clasen aye. Commission agreed this requirement under Title XI should be outlined under each zone. Planner Planner - Chairman Heneghan reported that at the study session held last week by the Commission, it was agreed that the Commission should do everything possible to obtain a planner. Commission agreed to send a letter to the City Council and appear before the Council at their next meeting. Discussed the reasons for the necessity of a planner to be inserted in the letter to Council: Commission is not aware of all the pitfalls of their ideas, need some- one to give strength to the Commission, need guidance, need someone other than appointed laymen, someone who is trained in planning. Clasen made a motion that the Commission draft a letter to the City Council outlining the Commission's thoughts on the hiring immediately of a planner to work in this capacity with this Commission and guide the Commission in policy making decisiobs. Seconded by Whitaker. Roll call vote - Clasen aye; Molny aye; Whitaker aye; Heneghan aye. Re-zoning Request Re-zoning request - Commission instructed the Secretary to send a letter to the firm of Oates and Austin informing them of the requirements under Section 11-1-13 (3).
