Regular Meeting Aspen Planning & Zoning August 23, 1967 Meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m. with the following members present: Chairman Tom Benton - Presiding Mayor Robert Barnard Donald Copelin Sam Lurn Francis Whitaker - excused George Heneghan - unexcused Councilman McEachern - unexcused BUILDING REVIEW Chairman Benton stated plans would be coming to nanning and Zoning for review on a request by the Woodlander to put in an outside barbecue pit between the Woodlander and the Aspen Leaf Building. ABSENT MEMBERS Mayor Barnard made a motion to remove Councilman and Zoning Commission due to his many absences. Copelin. All in favor, motion carried. McEachern from the Planning Seconded by Donald Donald Copelin made a motion to appoint Lorraine Graves as a voting member of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Seconded by Mayor Barnard. All in favor, motion carried. C-lA District Mayor Barnard made a motion to set a public hearing on 5:00 p.m., City Council Chambers on the C-lA District. Donald Copelin. All in favor, motion carried. September 13, 1967, Seconded by Mayor Barnard made a motion public hearing on signs and Seconded by Donald Copelin. to approve motions made July 26th to hold a parking requirements in the C-l District. All in favor, motion carried. PUBLIC HEARING AMENDMENTS Signs - Sam Lurn made a motion to recommend to the City Council 18" on beginning letters of each word and other letters 12" on flat and cut out letter signs. Seconded by Donald Copelin. All in favor, motion carried. Parking - Accommodations and Dwellings - Donald Copelin made a motion to recommend to the City Council on the parking requirements for accommodations and dwellings - 2 for 3 for one bedroom and bath and over 1 bedroom and bath 1 for 1. Seconded by Mayor Barnard. All in favor, motion carried. UNDERGROUND PARKING Mayor Barnard reported the City Council is looking into the cost of a feasibility study and will probably budget the cost of the study in the budget for 1968. Regular Meeting, P & Z, Aug. 23, 1967, continued. Commission agreed notification to property owners should be on the same basis as notification to property owners on a variance. For use appeals would require notifying all those within 300' and all other appeals adjacent property owners. Sam Lurn made a motion to hold a public hearing on notification to property owners on an appeal on September 13, 1967, 5:00 p.m., City Council Chambers. Seconded by Mayor Barnard. All in favor, motion carried. MINUTES Mayor Barnard made a motion to approve the minutes of July 26th and August 16th as mailed. Seconded by Donald Copelin. All in favor, motion carried.
