REGULAR MEETING
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
July 12, 1966
Meeting called to order at 8:10 P.M.
Present were: Francis Whitaker, King Woodward and Tom Benton
Corrections to minutes: Francis Whitaker asked that the commission
give him authorization to correct the minutes of the privious meeting
since they contained inaccuracies and personal opinions of one of
the members only. A motion made by Woodward to have Whitaker correct
the minutes. Seconded by Benton. Motion passed.
Sign Ordinance: A discussion of the new sign ordinance. A Public
Hearing was set for the 9th of August at 8:00 P.M. in City Council
chambers. Notice to be made in the Aspen Times on July 21st and 28th.
Motion by Woodward seconded by Benton. Motion carried.
Building Review:
Mr:-~rank Day: An addition to Roaring Fork Apartments, Block 40, LotK
The addition of one apartment with new apartment the total units
equal 17. The parking shown on the new plot plan had spaces 8 x 13.
Mr. Day also had the plans for the addition of four apartment units
on adjacent pcoperty and the parking for these additional units
was not clearly shown. Mr. Day said he would ha-e:e a plot plan made
of the entire property showin g all ~arking.required (21 spaces).
A Motion by Woodward to approve the plans subject to the submission
by Mr. Day of a Plot plan showing all parking and site development.
Seconded by Benton. Motion carried.
George Madsen Addition: An addition of a carport projecting into
the sideyard. A motion that plans be disapproved by Woodward,
seconded by Benton. Motion carried.

parking change: Amotion was made to send a letter to the City
Council requesting that the diagonal parking be changed from the
south side of Hopkins to the North side to relieve the congestion
and facilitate traffic flow from the dtive-up window onto Hopkins
Street. Note should be takenthat this change is in accord with
the Aspen Area Master Plan. Motion by Whitaker. Seconded by Wood-
ward. ~otion passed.
South Annexation: The City Council approved the planning ~nd
Zoning Commission request to proceed on the South Annexation
street plan. A recommendation to the City Engineer that he complete
the maps and surveys as recommended by the Commission at an earlier
date as per Section 139-59-20 of the State Statutes. Motion by
Whitaker; seconded by Woodward. Motion carried.

that the street right-of-way be 50 feet and since they are not
shown that wide the plat be disapproved. Motion by Woodward.
Seconded by Benton. Motion carried.
East Meadow Subdivision: Next to the city limit not within
the City limits. A motion that the Commission disapproved the
plat and recomend that the streets have a 50 feet right of way
and that the pie shaped deadend to the access road on Lot #5
is an impossible situation from an ingress and egress situation.
Motion by Bentliln and Seconded by Woodward. Motion carried.
Pelletier Plan: A discussion of the plan. The City Attorney
is still working on the legal status of such a project.
Parking requirements: A discussion of the lodges not meeting their
parking requirements. The Snowflake, LimeliBht, Uller, Chatelet.
Meeting adjourned at 10:20P.M.
