PLANNING & ZONING
August 9, 1966
Minutes of the regular meetigg of August 9, 1966.
Meeting was called to order at 8:30 p.m.
Members present: Whitaker, Woodward, Benton.
Public Hearing on Sign Ordinance and Small Lot Regulation:
The sign ordinance and small lot regulation was read by Mr.
Woodward. There was no public discussion. Public Hearing closed.
REGULAR MEETING
A motion was made to approve the July 12 minutes by Woodward.
Seconded by Benton. Motion carried.
Minutes of the July 21 meeting will wait for approval until the
next meeting.
BUILDING REVIEW:
Villa of Aspen: The addition of a managers apartment to the Villa
in Block 12 of Aspen Townsite. One parking space required. A Motion
was made by Woodward that the plans be approved provided a plot plan
at 1/8" scale showing all existing buildings, the new construction and
all existing parking as well as new parking be provided within 30
days. Motion was seconded by Benton. Motion carried.
Bullocks of Aspen:
addition to the Bullocks
covering on the west and
to approve the drawings.
Block 94, Lots A & B. A 3,000 sq. ft.
store as well as the addition of an overhead
north sidewalks. A motion was made by Benton
Seconded by Woodward, motion carried.
A motinn was made by Mr. Whitaker, seconded by Benton to write a
letter to the City Council recommending their approval of the pro-
jecting sidewalk covering as proposed by Bullocks. Motion passed.
TONY BERUMEN - ANNEXATION:
A motion by Woodward that a Public Hearing be set for August 30th,
on the zoning of the area recently annexed to the City and that an
agreement be reached with the City on the procedure for notifying all
adjoining property owners. Seconded by Benton. Motion carried.
The County Planning and Zoning Commission asked that the City
Planning and Zoning Commission make any comments they felt pertinent on
a subdivision plat. Chairman Whitaker made the comments on the plat
indicating that the road was inadequate for vehicle traffic and impossible
for an emergency vehicle Buch as a fire truck.
A. motion was made by Whitaker that the subdivision be disapproved
for the above reasons. Seconded by Woodward. Motion carried.

DENSITY CONTROL:
August 9, 1966
A motion was made by Benton, that the City Attorney be instructed
to draw up a model density control ordinance along the lines as outlined
by Jerry Brown. Seconded by Woodward. Motion carried.
Extension of the Business District in the east part of town was
discussed.
A motion was made by Whitaker that a letter be written to Jerry
Brown asking him to submit a proposal for a continuing planning service
program to the City Council. Seconded by Woodward. Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
