August 30, 1966
The Public Hearing was called to order by Chairman, Francis Whitaker
at 8:00 p.m. Francis Whitaker present.
Others present were Tony Berumen, Richard Bartlett, Mary Johnston,
Mayor Robert Barnard and City Engineer Roger Mahnke.
Mr. Whitaker read the Public Hearing Notice pertaining to zoning
of Sunny Park and Sunny Park North Subdivision, and stated the
hearing was open for discussion from the floor.
King Woodward and Tom Benton, Committee members arrived.
Mr. Bartlett stated he had signed the petition for zoning of R-6
which is what Tony Berumen is asking for.
There being no further discussion, the hearing was closed by
Chairman Whitaker.
Whitaker read correspondence sent to City Council dated August 1,
1966 recommending the zoning after annexation stand R-15 as previously
zoned in the County, pendigg major street plan in the area.
Mr. Berumen stated the County verbally agreed the City should plan
for the whole area and they would go along with the recommendations
of the City.
Committee felt the whole area should be zoned RMF, for the present
R-6 until the RMF zoning is in effect. Tom Benton explained RMF
allows everything allowed under R-6 plus patio houses and row houses.
Presently the City Engineer is too busy to work on the major s~reet
plan.
Tom Benton made a motion we recommend to the City Council that the
Sunny Park and Sunny Park North Subdivision be given R-6 zoning
classification. Seconded by King Woodward. All in favor, motion
carried.
Discussed planning for area contiguous with the City boundary lines.
Mr. Benton made a motion to adjourn at 8:25 p.m., seconded by
King Woodward. All in favor, meeting adjourned.
