Regular Meeting
Aspen Planning & Zoning
January 25, 1967
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Benton with the following
members present:
Francis Whitaker
Mayor Robert Barnard
Councilman William McEachern
Sam Lum
Mead Metcalf
Also present Jerry Brown, Planner and Building Inspector and Engineer,
Roger Mahnke.
Chairman Benton outlined the major changes made in Title XI Ordinance
resulting from the Public Hearing held January 18, 1967.
Question was asked why 25,000 sq.ft. for a patio or row house. Jerry
Brown stated you could not really build a patio or row house on a small
lot.
Realtors asked that the new zoning district map be made available as soon
as possible. Problem in selling property.
Mr. Whitaker made a motion the Planning and Zoning Commission refer Title
XI as amended with the map to the City Council with the recommendation it
be approved and adopted in Ordinance form. Seconded by Sam Lum. All in
favor, motion carried.
Mr. Hans Gramiger request the Commission repeat sections that are referred
to in other sections. Commission stated it would make the Ordinance too
lengthy, was unfeasible.
Mr. Gramiger submitted copies of an application for rezoning of Block 5~
Lots A, B, C, D, & E. Mr. Gramiger began reading his request. Mr.
Whitaker called a point of order from the Chairman. This should be read
at the public hearing.
Mr. Whitaker moved the Planning and Zoning Commission accept the
application from Hans Gramiger and set a public hearing date. Seconded by
Mayor Barnard. All in favor, motion carried.
Mr. Gramiger to supply the Secretary with the names of property owners
within 300 feet.
Mayor Barnard made a motion to set a public hearing for February 22nd at
5:90 p.m. Seconded by Francis Whitaker. All in favor, motion carried.
Chairman Benton asked those members wanting to attend the Planning meeting
in Boulder the 17th and 18th of February to contact him.
Chairman Benton appointed Mr. Whitaker to work with Roger Mahnke on the new
curb cut ordinance. Curb Cuts will be eliminated from the zoning code.
Mr. L. Anthony, Realtor, request the realtors be notified of the informal
sessions and work meetings of the Planning and Zoning. Commission stated
this was an improper request.
Chairman Benton request the meeting time be changed to 4:30 p.m. All
members agreed.
