Aspen Planning & Zoning
February 8, 1967
Meeting was called to order with the following members present at 4:40 p.m.:
Chairman Thomas Benton
Mr. Francis Whitaker
Mayor Robert Barnard
Mr. Sam Lum
Mr. Mead Metcalf (emergency absence)
Councilman Wm. McEachern (absent)
Also present Building Inspector Roger Mahnke.
Francis Whitaker moved to approve the minutes of January 18th and 25th as
mailed. Seconded by Mayor Barnard. All in favor motion carried.
Committees _ Tabled till new member is appointed by Council to replace Jack
Walls.
Date for Public Hearing on South Side Annexation - Chairman Benton stated this
would follow the Master Plan except for Calderwood which letters have been
sent to property owners requesting their opinion on the zoning they desire.
Mayor Barnard made a motion to set the public hearing date on zoning of the
South Side Annexation for March 8th, 8:00 p.m. City Council Chambers.
Seconded by Francis Whitaker. All in favor, motion carried. Secretary to
put notice in paper.

Chairman Benton stated he had a meeting with the property owners in Block 76.
They would prefer the zoning to remain as it was half tourist and half
business. Jerry Brown is changing the map.
Mountaineer _ Roger Mahnke stated it would probably take legal action to get
the buildings moved. Building Inspector to handle.
The new curb cut ordinance was submitted and read by Francis Whitaker. Com-
mission feels this ordinance shou+d'come under the same ordinance as side-
walks and should be handled by the City Engineer.
Francis Whitaker moved this be referred to the City Council for adoption as
an ordinance in a separate section from Title XI. Seconded by Mayor Barnard.
All inmvor, motion carried.
Commission agreed to include in the new Title XI the provision, off-street
parking must be provided adjacent to subject property or in the same ownership
and in the same zoned district.
Chairman Benton request Capitol Improvements Program be put on the next agenda.
Discussed the area contiguous to the City limits relating to non-conforming
uses under City ordLnBnces which may at some time be annexed. Discussed
control by water agreements.
