Aspen Planning & Zoning
March 29, 1967
Meeting was called to order at 4:40 p.m. with the following present:
Chairman Tom Benton
Councilman McEachern
Sam Lum
Francis Whitaker
George Heneghan
Mead Metcalf
Mayor Barnard (Absent)
Also present Building Inspector Roger Mahnke.
Francis Whitaker made a motion to approve the minutes of March 8th. Sec-
onded by George Heneghan. All in favor, motion carried.
BUILDING REVIEW - Earl Schennum - Block 30, Lots K,L,M,N, 1/2 0
Addition to original building.
Plan Check Committee reported the curb cuts were in violation of City
Ordinances. Also applicant has never provided required off-street Parking
as shown on plans approved 8/24/65.
Francis Whitaker made a motion the plans be rejected and be returned
to the Building Inspector with a copy of the Building Review Report.
Seconded by George Heneghan. All in favor, motion carried.
PUBLIC HEARING REPORT - South Side Annexation Zoning - Chairman Benton
reported one citizen was present, David Barbee, who requested C-l for Lots
1 thru 22 in Eames Addition. Chairman Benton stated he explained to Mr.
Barbee this was not proposed in the Master Plan, also would be split
zoning, but would be taken under advisement. Mr. Barbee wanted tourist
use and business heights.

NORTH SIDE ANNEXATION ZONING - Tabled.
OFF-STREET PARKING - Tabled, pending questionnaire
CLEAN-UP CAMPAIGN - Commission was not sure what they could do in support
of this.
Plan Check Committee - Chairman Benton to replace Francis Whitaker for one
month on this committee, due to Mr. Whitaker being out of town.
Discussed status of approved old plans if new set is submitted. Building
Inspector Mahnke stated the applicant would have to decide before a
building permit would be issued. If the commission reviews a new set the
old set wouJdbe invalid.
SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS - FrancE Whitaker request permission to discuss
City subdivision regulations with the City Attorney. Commission agreed to
this.

Special Meeting, P & Z, March 29, 1967, continued.
GENERAL ANNEXATION POLICY - Chairman Benton, Roger Mahnke and Councilman
McEachern to work as a committee on this.
Discussed changes in zoning advertised of R-15 to Tourist and Business by
County P & Z for Brush Creek and Golf Course Area. Commission agreed to
have Chairman Benton send a statement on this to the County P & Z opposing
this change, due to non-conformance with the Master Plan.
TITLE XI _ Chairman Benton stated Jerry Brown, Planner, figured out about
every building built in the last three years could be built under the new
ordinance.
Francis Whitaker made a motion to adjourn at 5:10 p.m., seconded by Sam
Lum. All in favor, meeting adjourned.
