Chairman Walls read notice of Hearing on zoning of Lots l-a Block 70. Telegram from Nancy Somers Ward read. No comments from public. Hearing closed. Chairman Walls opened hearing on the re-zoning of "u" Zone to "B" Zone, ie, the re-zoning of the portion of the Lots K, L, M, and N in Block 85 and of Lots A, B, C, D, E, r, G and a portion of H and I Block 86 and portions of Lots 1 and 2 in Block 92, an Unrestricted District to B-Business in the City of Aspen. Tom Benton asked if the proposed development included all or part of "u" ZOBe. Judge Shaw asked for definitions of uses in "B" and "U". Walls read uses in both zones. Rainhard Elder asked for exolanation of boundaries of "U" Zone. wm. Snare.....(no further reference made'in handwritten notes-secretary) McAllister asked if County zone would remain unrestricted. Thurston ex- plained that County Zone was now "B". Rob Roy asked what formal procedure was. Meyerink asked if the portion of Bleeker had been vacated. Hearing closed. Meeting re-convened at 8:35P.M. Woodward moved that minutes of prior meetings up to April 13th be approved as mailed and corrected. Sec. by Whitaker. Motion Carried. Building Review: 1. Frank Dav- Roaring Fork Motel Apt. Moved by Woodward that revised plans be approved. Sec. by F.W. Motion Carried 2. McTarnaghan- Hopkins ~~. Lots 0, P, Q Block 59. Moved by Woodward that plans for the first construction unit be approved. Sec. by Whitaker. Motion Carried. 3. Knirlberger- Mountaineer ~ge. Block 12, Lots D, E, F, G, H, I. A three stage construction project was presented. Drawings be accepted on condition: first stage of construction approved on condition that the seven parking spaces shown be available upon completion and before occupancy of the first stage building. (Moved by Woodward. Sec. by F.W.) Motion Carried. 4. Wallen Ski Lodge- Block 35, Lots A, B, C. Whitaker moved: Recommend approval subject to following conditions. That Separate entrances to units be closed as indicated and that revised plans be submitted to Bldg. Inspector. Thl.t building encrollches on alley set back line. Sec. by Wood'lllard. Motion Carried. 5. Arts and Crafts Building- Block 88, Lots M, N. Bldg. Inspector reports that Block 88 is exampt from parking requirements. Woodward moved that resubmitted drawings be approved. Sec. by Whitaker. Motion Carried. Communications: 1. Letter from City Clerk regarding permission ot Fire D~pt. to construct addition to !fire House. 2. Letter from Royal Peat Moss Co. requesting annexation. be advised that there is a formal procedure to be followed Moved by Whitaker seconded by Woodward. Motion Carried. Moved that applicant in annexation matters. 3.Moved that a letter be written to the New Library Board regarding plans for the library, Height, set-backs, off-street parking. Moved by Whitaker, sec. by Woodward. Motion Carried. ;Qning Amendments: Moved by Walls that 3 proposed amendments be submitted to the City Atty. for legal check and opinion and returned as soon as possible in draft form suitable for a --.-....,'"-----"...~-~...,"""""_."... Public hearing. Sec. by Woodward. Motion Carried. Moved that a letter be written to City Council requesting the City Engineer to determinli':1;he right of way lines of UiIe Avenue from Original to Spring st. with regard to possible encroachments, and also to request that the landscaping in- cluded in the improvement of Ute Avenue be completed.
