Joint Meeting - Aspen City Council and
Aspen Plannin~ ann Zonin~ Co\llllhsion
. The joint meeting originally called for May 7th was postponed.
The meeting of May 13th was called to order by Mayor Pahst at 4:45 PM.
Present were Councilmen McEachern and Stapleton, also JacK Walls,
Chail'Tlllln of the Planni~ Coaniuion, and Colll\liuion l\lIlmbers Richard Lai,
Francis Whitaker and Mrs. Andrea Lawrence. City Administrator Kerrigan
'j came in later.
The Mayor then turned the ...ting over to Mr. Walls, who referred
to satters pending, i.e. -
1 - Zoning for R-15 within Aspen.
2 - Interim zoning - to provide for 25' height restriction within
the tourist area - with aeletion of proportionate hei~ht.
Diacuason on #2 covered - that there is no provision in Colorado
Statutes for auch interim zoning - po..ibility of using expiration date
in ordinance.
3 - Den.ity control in touri.t area.
Discu..ion on # 3 covered - tying in with area of land to
decrease density about 25~ - .uggested that 600 square feet of land
be provided for each livi~ unit; whether it would be wiae to await
the planning report from Mr. Wiener; economic. and growth of comaunity,
and effect on busine.s area.
Also di.cus.ed - having City and County ordinances compatible _
need for off.treet parkinl.
