At the next meeting of the City Council it is expected that the amendments to the Zoning R e'gulations, fourth draft, will be passed as read with one minor change as follows: The section which reads "all service yards and laundry yards shall be screened from ground to six feet from grade shall omit "and laundry yards". Codification will take several more months, but the amendments must be printed before the beginning of the building season next spring. The following topics were discus Red: 1. The Map Committee should work on defining East Aspen on the new map which will be incorporated into the codification. 2. The Tree Committee will be inactive until the Sidewalk and Greenstrip Committee decide which trees will be best to recommend for plariling in the greenstrips. The clinging cottonwood and mountain ash are thought to be the most hardy for this type of planting. 3. Sidewalk notice will be sent out to all people with hazardous sidewalks. Jim Markalunas is already working on this. 4. William James will write to Dick Brown for information regarding side- walk construction recommendations. He will also inquire if there is any State or Federal aid for this type of City project. I ~ I I I II ~ , , , - 5. Should this committee take up the subject of parking problems? It was decided that a parking study should be done by some other committee than the Street and Sidewalk. 6. Fred Braun brought up the subject of whether the issuing of liquor licenses should come under the domain of the Planning and Zoning Committee. The problem is the lack of an ordinance by which restrictions could be enforced. At the close of the meeting Bill Beyer and Fred Glidden were &8ked to study parking problems, and off-street parking. No report is expected until next spring. All members were urged to promote Regioha1 Planning. Recorded by Alice M. McDonald
