As noted in Sup,gested SU1P1iment, I ~8A that there should be control incorporated n i-.he 0rdinanl'Je, over parts of buildings projecting beyond the actual wall of the building, such as porches, fire escapes and eaves, and special con- sideration should be given to these above named structural features at ground level, re he:l.ght from eround. Under item No. 3 of the sUlL.eated !,ub1~_c hearing notice concerning height restrictions in the B zone, it seobs to me that clarification is needed. If, as stated under para- graph J, a height of 38 feet is allowed, provided that for each foot of height in excess of 20 feet there shall be one foot of rear yard, would the builder be compelled to provide a set back if he proposed to build a stru~ture with a 20 foot wall and, say, an 8 foot high titched roof the angle of which satisfied the 1 foot heigh fsetback requirement? To me this does not seem unreasonable. i. e. that he be permitted to exceed 20 feet without e set- back, prvided the angle oi his roef, in effect, does the same thing. Sincerely yours, , William James, Jr. \ "
