Steve Buettow, Chairperson, called the Design Review Appeals Commission
meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. with members Mary Hirsch and Bob Blaich present.
Roger Moyer and Tim Mooney were excused. Staff members present were Sarah
Oates and Chris Bendon, Community Development ; David Hoefer, Assistant City
Attorney.

PUBLIC HEARING:
MOCKLIN LOT #3, 145 MINERS TRAIL ROAD – BUILDING
ORIENTATION and GARAGE PLACEMENT
Chris Bendon, staff, stated the request was for appeal from the Residential Design
Standards regarding the building orientation and garage placement. Graeme Means,
architect, was also present.
MOTION: Bob Blaich moved to approve the variance of standards
26.58.040(A)(1), and 26.58.040(F)(4)(c)(2), G

for the single-family residence proposed for 145 Miners Trail
Placement,
Road (Lot #3, Mocklin Subdivision), with the following conditions
: 1.)
That all other aspects of the Residential Design Standards shall apply. 2.) That this variance
is granted for the specific proposal presented to the DRAC. Any substantial change to the
proposed residence which necessitates an additional or different variance from the design
standards shall require review and approval by the DRAC, or any other board from which
the project requires land use approval. 3.) Prior to application for a building permit, the
applicant shall record the DRAC Resolution with the Pitkin County Clerk and Recorder.
The applicant is responsible for a per page recordation fee payable to the County Clerk. In
the alternative, the applicant may pay this fee to the City Clerk who will record the
resolution. 4). All material representations made by the applicant in the application and
during public meetings with the DRAC shall be adhered to and considered conditions of
approval, unless otherwise amended by other noted conditions.
