Once the estimate is in then Randy will discuss whether it is feasible or not. I'll e -mail everyone the proposal. Bill said it is extremely important to do both malls. Kathy said she will find out if the lighting contest falls under a special event. Bill and Don asked who sent the bike survey out. Siam said she is doing an e-mail to businesses concerning the bike race. Fred said the pr was great but the television coverage was terrible. The pr is needed and huge. Kathy pointed out that for sale items aren't allowed on the mall. Saturday market artisan rules Kathy said the agriculture vendors are allowed to have 20% off site due to the fact that some produce etc. is not available till later in the season. For example they are allowed to sell Halibut and Alaskan salmon. For 2012 artisans need to be responsible for 80% of their design and they need to put it together themselves at 80 %. That way they are in compliance with the agriculture vendors. Many of the vendors hire people to help them put their designs together. Siam said you could ask the question as how much do you put your item together yourself. You could say it has to be you and your employees putting the item together. Siam said you can ask how much of the item do you put together yourself. Fred suggested hot dogs in the park. Don said the food court is great and those food vendors should be invited back next year. Kathy said some of the artisans have been invited back for 2011. MOTION: Don moved to invite the existing food vendors back for 2012; second by Siam. All in favor 3 -0. Fred said we could have the park for seating and move the food vendors to the street or we could have some of the food vendors in the park and move the coffee to the street. Also Seth could be in the Park by himself. Kathy pointed out that the issue is electricity and there isn't enough. Most special events don't require electricity. Kathy said she will check with existing vendors to see who might want to sell hot dogs next year. Meeting adjourned at 10:00 Kathy Strickland 2
