Ute Park is located on the north side of Ute avenue just past the
cemetery. In March 1956 the land was surveyed and a plat made by
the Bureau of Land Management. In August 1958 the BLM issued
patent #118578 for the area known as Ute Park to the City of Aspen.
By resolution in 1966, this land was dedicated and set aside for use by
the public for park and recreation purposes and named Bavaria Park.
In 1967 the name was changed to Ute Park in 1970. Development of
the Park was started in 1968. The Park is zoned P, Park, and is 3 acres.
In 1967 application for the adjoining 81.53 acres of BLM land was
made so that it might be developed into hiking trails. Today that land
is known as the Ute Trail. (Book246, page 961;
