MINUTES OF DECEMBER 19, 2012
Vice-chair Don Sheeley called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Commissioners in
attendance were Siam Castillo, Kiki Raj, Bill Dinsmoor and Riley Tippet. Absent
were Andrew Kole and Terry Butler.
Minutes: Siam moved to approve the minutes of December 5th second by Kiki.
All in favor, motion carried.
Bill said he met with Donnie Lee from the Gant regarding a month long winter
market similar to what they have in Europe. We need to decide if this is something
we want the City to do. We need to decide where we would host the web site. It
would also be nice to have a CD to promote the winter market to those who might
help sponsor it.
Kiki said you can get on the internet and download XMAS sites.
Riley suggested getting all the businesses together to get behind the idea and then
go to council with a good presentation.
Bill said maybe we can have someone who is involved with Sister Cities who is
familiar with a winter market help us.
Don said he would check with some of the Sister Cities. Don also said Abetone is
interested in being a Sister City. It is a two year courtship. Our students go over
there and their students come here for approximately two weeks.
Motion: Don moved to adjourn; second by Siam. All in favor, motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
