Flowers/triangle/mall/roundabout Don said we had a comment from the public at the last meeting and they were concerned about so many annual flowers and the cost. We need to incorporate more perennials. Bill said colors and textures could be added to the beds. We need to make the beds have a more interesting effect. Terry asked what is the roundabout supposed to say? Dan Nelson said the theme was coming into the wilderness. Don said a citizen committee decided that they wanted it natural. The medium strip is also full of weeds. Terry said the last thing we need is the impression on our town that we have weeds. Bill said one year the lupine were spectacular. Terry said the directive on natural vegetation was done long ago. We would like perennial flowers that have meaning at the roundabout. Stephen Elsperman, Parks Department said what CCLC wants takes a lot of time and higher maintenance. The seed mixes have color. There aren't any weeds out there and we spent a lot of time eradicating the weeds. Natural grasses have a different curing and they do brown out and don't have that tight look. At the center of the roundabout we have put in new perennials and they take time to mature. 750 plants were added. We are not proposing to change it and that would have to happen at the community level. For every person that wants things to change there is someone that wants it the same. For 2014 Parks put in for $20,000 for upgrades and $50,000 for watering upgrade. This should be a community effort. 1 COMMERCIAL CORE & LODGING COMMIS MINUTES OF Jul 3 SION Terry said the flowers and trees are greatly appreciated 013 different and more beautiful.
