THE BOARD WILL RETURN THIS APPLICATION IF IT DOES NOT CONTAIN ALL THE FACTS IN QUESTION. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED EXCEPTION SHOHING JUSTIFICATIONS: two foot (2') set-back has been established since existing An additional constructed. Permission is requested to build second (2nd) floor addition over existing. walls, rather than set in two feet from existing first floor walls. Primary reason for doing this work is that present roof in understructured...has a continuing leak problem and an excessive heat loss. The present building has a number of places where the roof abuts a vertical wall. Every one of these places has turned out to be a n~jor leak problem. We are restructuring the entire roof to eliminate these problems and are very reluctant to build in another one. Building over the exi.sting walls would eliminate this. We believe also that the architectural appearance will be enhanced by the straight wall rather than a set-back that appears 'to have no purpose. building ^"as Will you be represented by counsel x ' ? Box 2088 Aspen, Cola, 81611 August 2, 1976 City of Aspen Board of Adjustment Aspen, Colorado 8l6ll Dear Members of the Board; As a property owner at 500 W. Bleeker, directly behind the residence of Roger Hunt, I have no objection to the variance applied for by Mr. Hunt at SOl W. Hallam. Upon looking over his plans for a second floor addition, I feel that denying the requested variance would cause the addition to be very un- pleasing aesthetically. Snow removal and ice build-up in the winter time would be eliminated by granting the variance. I urge you to grant the variance applied for by Mr. Hunt as I feel it will make the addition much more attractive, as well as practical. Thank you. Sincerely, ~lYY' &~ Sue W. Hall
