THE BOARO WILL RETURN THIS APPLICATION IF IT DOES NOT CONTAIN ALL THE FACTS IN QUESTION. DESCRI FTl ON OF PROPOSED EXCEPTl ON SHO\-JI NG JUSTIFI CATIotlS: Appl icant wi shes to add approximately 45 square feet to basement of building by squaring off corner formerly angled 45% to save a cottonwood tree on adjacent property to the west. Building was moved five feet to the east thereby eliminating the need to build angled corner to save tree. Squaring off corner creates. a more functional space in the basement. Since the change is entirely in the basement, it will not be visually evident from the exterior of the building. Special conditions will not result from granting of variance because no increase in use or in density will occur. Granting of variance will not adversely affect the general purpose of the comprehensive general plan because of its extremely minor nature and because the original intent of its use is not modified. Will you be represented by counsel ? Yes_NoL _ SIGNED!~;rt' f?~ Appellant PROVISIONS OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE BUILDING INSPECTOR TO FORWARD THIS APPLICATION TO THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT AND REASON FOR NOT GRANTING: Application is made for a variance to add an additional 50 square feet to a non-conforming building. The building is non-conforming since it exceeds the 1:1 floor area ratio. No such non-conforming structure may be enlarged or altered in a way which increases its non-conformity. As the adjoining property owner to the west, I would imagine I would be the one most affected by the change and want to go on record to the Board of Adjustment as favoring the granting of this variance. The building has already been moved to save the tree which is on our property, and as I see it, the change will not effect the use, density or realy anything else accept to make the athletic club in the basement more desirable. I hope the Board of Adjustment will consider this variance favor- ably, S~.Il,ce~:,ly,' .j "I / , "i 1/ / / :' !"
