I am sending this lettem to reOuest a change in the use
determination of the upstairs of the new Sears building. I am
trying to obtain a business license to open a shoe repair service.
My ~rima~y business will be the meoair of shoes and boots.
The only retail sales will be shoe cams oroducts--oolish, laces,
etc.--which will be no more than 10% of my total business. Since
there is not a shoe meoair service in town, I feel I will oe pro-
viding a real service rom the communit/.

RE: Grad Shoe Repair - Use Determination

The attached application requests permission to locate a shoe repair
business in the Sears building, which is zoned S/C/I. In discussing the
application with the applicant, we learned that David Grad will primarily
be involved in selling his services as a shoe repairman. Retail ~sales will
be limited to materials used and to care products, such as polish, laces,
etc. So, retail sales will be incidential to the sale of his services.
We feel this use is clearly within the intention of the S/C/I zone
district and recommend you approve this application without condition.
