Discussion items:
Kurt Dahl presentation and question session on current status of COVID
Kurt mentioned the incident rate is very high with the omicron variant. The state called in the
National Guard to support covid efforts, and the local hospital capacity has changed due to
staffing issues. Quarantine guidelines are changing, the state has put out specific procedures
around schools and sports programs, and the county is waiting for more data from the state
before changes are made. Parents have expressed concern over the long-term mental health
effects of the continued restrictions regarding the pandemic. Parents and Coaches also discussed
the health effects of restricting airflow. The committee is interested in moving a formal request
in front of the health board.
