Discussion items:
Recreation Manager Position Updates:
The final interviews for the Recreation Manager will be on Wednesday. A meet and greet for the
candidates will be held at City Hall from 4 pm to 5 pm. Please attend if you are able.
Facility and Project Updates:
The facility is open on Sundays with reservations for the pool. The hours are 11 am-6 pm. The
next effort will be to extend some hours on Saturday. The Recreation Center will have the annual
maintenance closure September 10th-18th and reopen on the 19th.
The aquatics area should have finalized spray features, an updated sauna, a new floor in the spa,
and updated chlorine hoppers.
The training room ceiling panels should be installed. Ice is getting established in the Aspen Ice
Garden on August 22nd, and the facility will be open sometime in early September.
Program Updates:
Summer programs are wrapping up, and the team is preparing for the fall. We launch our first
learn-to-skate collaborative program with Aspen Skating Club in September.
Financial and 2023 budget process:
The current recovery rate is 44%. Fees will increase in some areas up to 10% for some
programs.
Action Items:
Review of the Concessions Proposals on the September meeting.
