REGULAR MEETING ASPEN CITY COUNCIL DECEMBER 6, 2022
At 5:00 p.m. Mayor Torre called the regular meeting to order with Councilors Doyle, Richards, Mesirow,
and Hauenstein present.
CITIZEN COMMENTS: None.
COUNCIL COMMENTS:
Mayor Torre said thank you to the entire staff, special events, the Managers office and the Wheeler for
the community event last week with Pete McBride. The Aspen Historical Society and the Aspen Skiing
Company focused on mental health and community connectiveness. Everyone did an amazing job and
was a really great event.
AGENDA AMENDMENTS: None.
CITY MANAGER COMMENTS: None.
BOARD REPORTS:
Councilor Richards said she went to Colorado Conversations, and there was a really extensive
presentation on the dangers of fentanyl and how serious it has become. She also spoke about a lack of
water, housing concerns, and homelessness. Joann Gruff presented on property tax collections in
Colorado.
Councilor Mesirow said the subcommittee of the Nordic Council presented to the Open Space and Trails
Board around snow making and got universal support to pursue that. He had a NWCOG meeting last
week, and they discussed the approval of the new employee handbook and new employee bonus policy,
as well as a new official training retreat.
Mayor Torre had RFTA Thursday morning and the Board of Health Thursday afternoon. He will send the
agendas to the others.

Councilor Mesirow motioned to approve; Councilor Doyle seconded. Roll call vote: Doyle, yes;
Hauenstein, yes; Mesirow, yes; Richards, yes; Torre, yes. 5-0, motion carried.
