Ms. Wang entered meeting. Mr. Ball said this isn’t the first time this happened with Louis Swiss pre-pandemic when the family was out of the country, but this time was the change in ownership. Ms. Henning said the new owner came right over with the application and check after the last meeting and said he was told this had already been taken care of by the previous owner. Ms. Raj said she’s not opposed to making an exception for them because of the change in ownership. Mr. Dinsmoor asked if we can cover liability with a fine or late fee. Ms. Strickland said they would be paying a late fee. Mr. Dinsmoor said their application is a zero. Mr. Cunniffe said we are making sure the market is successful. Mr. Ball suggested that they speak with them about their application and let them know that they made a huge exception for them and what they need to do next year. Ms. Wang said she will call Chris and tell him what is expected of a full application. Mr. Ball said they need to do the right thing and everyone can score them accordingly. The board commenced going through the new applications. Emmy Garrigus introduced herself along with Philip Supino. She works in the community development department under Phillip and said she took a new position as Lodging and Downtown Services liaison which is what Mitch Osur was previously doing. She also deals with short term rentals. She will be joining us for CCLC meetings and learning how she can support them and connecting with the city. She said she met and worked with Mitch during COVID and learned his style, so she hopes to bring that back. Ms. Wang asked if they should put something together to ask council for a budget and some money. Mr. Ball said their desire to get funding comes from Nicole’s budget and that they would need to ask for a specific amount for very specific things; they can’t just request a lump sum. Ms. Wang said again that she wants to get this Saturday Market process online. Mr. Dinsmoor, Mr. Ball and Mr. Cunniffe said they like seeing the applications in person. Ms. Tanaka agreed. 2 REGULAR MEETING COMMERCIAL CORE & LODGING COMMISSION FEBRUARY 1, 2023 Ms. Raj said there are some people on this list who would benefit from speaking to us in person also. Ms. Wang said they need help with Emmy doing another alleyway cleanup and said the snow hasn’t even been plowed in the alleys this winter. They spoke about the pallets and people parking in the alleys. Ms. Garrigus said it will definitely be one of her focuses. They said what they did with Mitch was successful, but they couldn’t keep it up. Mr. Ball said we can use the next meeting to lay out some goals and projects.
