HomeMy WebLinkAboutminutes.cclc.030123 1 REGULAR MEETING COMMERCIAL CORE & LODGING COMMISSION MARCH 1, 2023 Co-Chairman Charles Cunniffe started the meeting at 8:40 a.m. Commissioners present: Amanda Tanaka, Terry Butler, Charles Cunniffe, Angi Wang, Kiki Raj. Absent were Jeb Ball and Bill Dinsmoor. Staff present: Mike Sear, Deputy City Clerk Emmy Garrigus, Downtown Services Wesy Armour-Cook, Special Events Andy Curtis, Special Events Other Attendees: Councilman Ward Hauenstein & Alycin Bektesh of ACRA Special Events Presentation on the 4th of July: Ms. Armour-Cook said that Nancy Lesley was home sick, so the presentation would be short and sweet. She gave a quick update on what the latest is on the 4th of July planning and asked the board if they would like to participate in judging applicants again this year. The board said yes. Ms. Armour-Cook and Mr. Curtis exited the meeting. The board had a discussion about adding members to CCLC and spoke about the categories of membership. They would like to have representatives from the restaurant business, cannibus, retail, and a non-profit. They spoke about who would be able to attend the meetings and Ms. Wang said she had some people in mind. She mentioned Wendy of Meat & Cheese. They spoke about outreach to retailers and restaurants but said that hasn’t been much outreach to the lodging community. Councilor Hauenstein gave updates on the living lab, the entrance to Aspen and outreach ideas. The board got into a heated discussion on transit and parking. Ms. Wang motioned to adjourn at 9:30 a.m.; Mr. Cunniffe seconded. All in favor, motion carried. _____________________ Nicole Henning, City Clerk
