GOLF ADVISORY COMMITTEE

MINUTES
Those a?ending were Jeff Sivess, Ted Greene, Linda Maslow, Jim Schanzenbaker, Jarod Day,
Annie Gabriel, Helene Slansky, Jim Pra?, Dominic Lanese and Andrew Firman.
1. The Agenda was approved.
2. The minutes were approved.
3. Public Comment: Jeff expressed thanks to the Staff for their support for the Ryder Cup
event.
4. No Junior Golf report.
5. General Manager report:
Jim congratulates the Girls team for placing runner up in the 2023 3A compe??on.
The restaurant lease is being nego?ated by the City Managers office to comply with the
th
budget. The Opera?onal Budget & Compass Presenta?ons will b June. 19.
Pass prices will go up in 2024. Cart prices may have preseason pricing like the early
season pass and then go up.
Holes 7/14 project expenses to date have been $4612 for Sod plus Labor to be
computed. Our balance must be carried forward.
6. Superintendent Report:
Dom thanked volunteers who worked on the Course. The weather has improved for
growing grass. The ditches are doing well too.
7. Head Professional Report:
The Ryder Cup High School fundraiser was successful.
Retail is up 24% over 2022 at this ?me.
Staffing is up and outside services are good.
June 20 deadline for Match Play. If more than 12 sign up there will be a qualifier.
Caddies are okay but should be cleared with the other player
8. Womens Associa?on Report:
80 members have paid so far. There is 9 hole play and 18 hole play. Some have objected
to price and requirement to play four events. Cost is $150 for cart, entry fee and prize
money.
Interclub – Ironbridge ra?ng is too hard so handicaps aren’t right.
9. Mens Associa?on Report:
Ryder Cup was good. We are in second place. The opener was sold out so par?cipa?on
was very good.
10. Suggest conduc?ng an analysis of “How we can grow the game”.
11. New Business:
Update on pass pricing for 2024.
Requests: New ball washers on carts, new trash cans, bench on #17.
Move July mee?ng due to conflicts.
12. Next mee?ng: Tuesday August 8, 10:00 a.m. in Simulator Room.
